Jefferson County Animal Control is a section of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. Animal Control Officers enforce all county ordinances and state statutes related to animals. Our officers are highly trained and experienced professionals, with regionally and nationally recognized training and certifications. Animal Control Officers are designated as Peace Officers under Colorado Revised Statutes 30-15-105, 30-15-402.5, and 30-42-107.
Our officers investigate animal welfare complaints, dog bite reports, barking and noise disturbances, leash law violations, dangerous animal situations, and wildlife concerns including coyote encounters and rabies exposure. We also assist residents with lost and found pets, dog licensing, and questions about Jefferson County animal regulations.
